Plugging back in

I've had a busy couple of weeks lately, so this past weekend we took a much needed long weekend to Portland, Maine. One of my favorite weekend getaways, Portland is a great city. More posts this week about new things I saw, and all the amazing stuff we ate!

Monthly Post, a week late

I'm a week late in my monthly post on the Etsy Bookbinding Team blog, but it's there now! This month's post focuses solely on writing. You can read it here.

Etsy Craft Party!

Tonight is the Etsy Craft Party at Craftland! Come on down tonight from 5-8 and make some stuff with us! We were one of the top 50 parties, which means we received a box full of crafty goodness from Etsy. It's full of fun surprises!

Feel free to bring something to work on, bring some supplies to add to our supply swap table, or bring some goodies to share. Or just come and hang out and play with what Etsy sent us.

Arrive on time to be sure to receive your special one night only coupon from Craftland!

Back in Business

From my lack of posting, you've probably guessed that I've been out of my regular routine. June has been super busy. Lots of craft shows, and I was also out of town for a long weekend.

Having my own handmade business means a lot less time for myself, a lot more time on the computer, a lot of time in production mode and has made me aware of the importance of unplugging when I go away.

These past few days, I spent in Binghamton, New York with a side trip to Williamsport, Pennsylvania for a wedding. I drove through some super rural parts of the country, all while listening to the audio book, Travels with Charley, by John Steinbeck. I couldn't have picked a more perfect book for a road trip. Made me want to keep going until I saw the Pacific!

I'm back now, refreshed and inspired and ready to get back to business.

Summer Kicks Off!

I hope everyone had a relaxing weekend and summer kicked off smoothly. I took a much needed break from making stuff. I was at the Open Market on Saturday, and then drove down to New Jersey to visit with family. It was nice to relax and enjoy the warm weather, without the temptation to fold paper or sew books.

Tuesday we drove back and arrived home at lunchtime. Then we kicked off summer in one of our favorite ways, lunch outside at Venda. Aaahhh....white wine, antipasto, flowers, the fountain. For us, lunch outside at Venda means summer is here!

Now, to get busy making stuff!
